Salvador Dali was a very famous painter from Spain from the early 20th century on.  He is famous for his ultra-unique style of art, far different than that of any before him, after him, or during his time.  His style was surrealism.  Something surrealistic is a normal object that has been manipulated or changed in order to make it seem strange.  It is quite uncomfortable for the eye to look at some of these paintings.  However this is a fabulous tactic for attracting attention towards your finest pieces of art work.  Every aspect of Dali's art work holds a certain charachter of oddness, just enough to keep your eyes moving.
